Our Village, Our Life -- a photographic competition
The page below has not changed from its previous update. But the Fenland Visual Arts Collective are issuing regular 'News-zines'. You can access those for MARCH and JUNE by clicking here. The Nordelph website is not responsible for the content of these items.

The Fenland Visual Arts Collective has secured funding (from the LeAPLeader+ fund) to run a photographic competition. This is an Internet-based project, and entry is open to all people living in the Fens Leader+ area, which includes Nordelph.
The project runs until the end of July and uses the web site www.fenvisualarts.org.uk.
Over a period of months, the project aims to capture images from communities in as many of the 42 parishes they cover as possible.
You send them photographs which represent life in your village, and they put them on the website. There's an on-line voting facility, and people can vote for the picture that most appeals to them.
The organisation aims to improve the quality of opportunities for visual artists, to improve access to the visual arts and to support voluntary and professional artists in all media. You can join the collective on-line at the website (click above) or by e-mail to: info@visualarts.org.uk.
We ought to draw your attention to a few of the details. There's no mention in the publicity as to what (if anything) is offered as a prize. Anyone taking part agrees to join their e-mail mailing list. It isn't clear if entering the competition involves assigning your copyright to the project, and submission is as an e-mail attachment and an image pasted into the body of the e-mail (difficult if you prefer not to send formatted e-mails!).
