Nordelph Community Day, 2005

The sun shone gloriously for us -- people came, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. It seems invidious to single out any of the helpers who mounted displays, ran refreshment stalls or donated raffle prizes, we really must publicly acknowledge the enormous debt the village owes to Jean Manning and Emma Shapland, who uncomplainingly organised everything.

The car boot stalls seemed to be doing thriving business (above), as did the sellers of plants (below).

Refreshments were available, inside and out, and there were games for all ages.

Shining Tree from Salters Lode attracted everyone to their Tai Chi demonstration -- fortunately one that didn't clash with 'Pictures of old Nordelph', which sparked long and furious debates -- not least over whether some of the pictures were the right way round!

The Nordelph Arts and Crafts Club had a lively display, with demonstrations of various crafts throughout the afternoon -- and the Fire Service came: complete with klaxon!
