This is not a wonderful shot of the sun eclipsed, but for us it was the achievement of a goal that had taken us travelling. We missed the 1999 eclipse in the UK, and felt frustrated. In 2003, we took a trip to Iceland solely to watch an eclipse that was only visible there at dawn. We spent the entire night, unsuccessfully racing around Iceland to find somewhere that had clear skies. But then in 2006, a one-night trip to Southern Turkey produced the goods. It was wonderful!
